New to football this season??

The Welcome to Football Program is tailored specifically for girls aged 8 - 12 years who are playing football for the first time.

 

START DATE: Tuesday 16th March 2021

DURATION: 3 weeks - 45 min sessions (Tuesday 16th, 23rd and 30th March 2021)

LOCATION: Queen Elizabeth Park

TIME: 5.30pm - 6.15pm

AGES: 8 - 12 years girls

COST: Free

 

Over the three weeks, participants will be taken through a range of skill-based activities designed to build confidence and ability in the lead up to the 2021 winter season. Participants will have maximum time with the ball at their feet to encourage reptition of the core skills of football.

 

The core skills of football are:

  • Running with the ball
  • Striking the ball
  • 1 v 1 
  • First touch

 

Who is this program targeted at?

This program is designed specifically for girls who are new to football. These additional training session gives them the opportunity to practice and learn skills in a fun, positive environment. 

 

What to expect?

Participants will be taken through 45 min skill-based session with qualified coaches. On top of developing their skill ability, partipants will also recieve a Welcome to Football Booklet - this booklet includes all the information partipants need to know in the lead up to their first season. Topics such as playing positions, playing formations and how to train at home will be touched on each session.

 

What does the program include?

Each partipant will recieve a Welcome to Football Booklet as well as a football to take home to practice their skills. At the end of each session, participants will be tasked with a skill to practice before the next session.
