Representative League 24

Applications are now OPEN for players to express their interest in participating in the Season 2024 Football Canterbury Representative League.

Inspired by the old “Canterbury Reps” program which proved both popular and successful in the past, the league is to provide further opportunities for talented players within Football Canterbury to develop, train, and compete with and against the best players in the association and against other regions. After a review by the FC Board, the 2024 FC Rep League will be played over the Spring/Summer months, with trials to start on Monday 19th August (girls and some mixed) and Wednesday 21st August (mixed teams) and will be held over 2-3 week period (completed by first week of September). Trial information will be made available after the the EOI period cut off.

There will be four regions who will have four age groups each, meaning a total of 192 players will be exposed to additional high-level training and matches. Importantly, there will be ideally no clashes with club commitments as this competition will be out of season, with only the trial dates overlapping with the 2024 Winter Season.

Training and games to start mid September. This year Rep League will be primarily be on Monday nights. Players who are selected will have training sessions as a guide every fortnight with six game nights played throughout the season.

Regions

  • NorthEast:
    (Balmain, Leichhardt Saints, Leichhardt Tigers).

  • SouthEast:
    (Cooks River, Earlwood, Hurlstone Park, Marrickville)

  • NorthWest:
    (Abbotsford, Burwood,Concord, Five Dock, Russell Lea, Inter Lions).

  • SouthWest:
    (Ashfield, National Sports, Belmore, Canterbury, Enfield, Lakemba, Punchbowl, Roselands, Strathfield).

Age groups

  • G11 Girls: (eligiblity G9, G10,& G11).

  • G13 Girls: (eligbility G12/G13).

  • U10 Boys/Mixed: (eligibility U9, U10 & G10).

  • U12 Boys/Mixed: (eligibility U11, U12 & G12).

There is a minimum cost requirement of $130 to cover costs.


The FC Rep League also provides an opportunity for coaches to further their skills at a higher level. Please note: Coaches cannot coach in the age group they are registered in during the 2024 season and preferably will not be within their registrated clubs region, so must be prepared to travel for training purposes.
