Holmes and Mulroney appointed to Football Canterbury Board

Ian Holmes and Tamara Mulroney have joined the Football Canterbury board as appointed directors.

Following the resignation of CEO, Anthony Bathurst and the absence of director, Ashleigh Campbell due to professional commitments, the Board resolved to appoint Holmes and Mulroney as per Clause 16.1 of the Constitution.

Needing specific skills and experience to ensure that Football Canterbury can successfully navigate this critical period of the season, it was felt that Holmes and Mulroney were perfect appointments.

Their term has commenced immediately and will continue until the Annual General Meeting on Monday 27 November when their appointment will lapse.

Nick Kambounias, Chairman of Football Canterbury, said he the organisation would benefit from the experience of both Holmes and Mulroney.

"We are pleased to bring both Ian and Tamara to the board,” said Kambounias.

“They are both two very capable individuals who will greatly assist us during this time of significant change to ensure minimal disruption to our core operation.”

Ian Holmes is a well-known and established sport administrator, both on a national level and at Football Canterbury where he has been involved in several capacities since 1975 including as President and CEO.

Holmes is a life member, Hall of Famer, and Vince and Val Laws Medal recipient.

“I am happy to come on board during a transitional period for Football Canterbury. If my experience during this time can assist Nick Kambounias and the Board then that is a good thing,” said Holmes.

Tamara Mulroney

Tamara Mulroney is a popular figure in clubland and has vast experience in running grassroots clubs in this association.

Currently serving as President of Earlwood Wanderers, Mulroney has also held the positions of Secretary, Committee Member, Female Football Officer, and Age Coordinator.

“I am honoured to join the Football Canterbury Board at an exciting time in Football Canterbury's continued growth,” said Mulroney.

“I am passionate about community-based football and look forward to leveraging my experience as Football Canterbury continues to grow the game.”
