Three local clubs in State Cup finals

Published Wed 12 Jul 2023

Football Canterbury will be well represented in Football NSW’s State Cup finals this weekend with three teams in action from the association.

Enfield FC, Burwood FC and Earlwood Wanderers will all contest finals on Sunday afternoon at Cromer Park in the 16’s Boys, 18’s Men’s and Robertson Cup respectively.

Enfield will be looking for their first ever State Cup title, while Burwood have previously won the Robertson Cup in 2011 and the 16’s Boys in 2007, and Earlwood will be aiming for a fifth title overall, but their first Robertson cup in 50 years.

Earlwood President and recently appointed Football Canterbury board member Tamara Mulroney said it was great to see such a strong showing from across the association.

“To have three clubs representing our association this weekend in the State Cup Finals is very exciting, and a great advertisement for football in our area,” Mulroney said.

“For me personally it is great to see an Earlwood team in there, but also now as a board member and someone with a vested interest in our local competitions it is a great sign of where we are headed.”

All matches in the State Cup Finals will take place at Cromer Park on Saturday & Sunday.
